About Us

Preservation Ranch is a landscape-scale Public-Private Partnership with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) in California’s West Mojave Desert.

Through this partnership, Preservation Ranch:

Step One

Implements targeted on-the-ground resource management actions, or “mitigation measures,” in areas that best support recovery for the threatened Mojave desert tortoise.

Step Two

Generates transferable mitigation credits to offset the environmental impacts of development projects.

Step Three

Provides long-term management and protection in perpetuity.
